As the Head of Administration of Christian Virtual School, I oversee the day-to-day operations of the school.

And today, I marvel at the power and importance of prayer. I was filling in one of my (many) spreadsheets and I noticed that we are sitting at 94% of the way to our enrollment goal for our first year. Back in November, we wrote a blog post about how we had not even existed 7 months prior, (check it out here if you haven’t read it yet) but through prayers, paperwork, and preparation, we had made it.

We are deeply aware that it has not been by our own strength or actions that we have made it this far, but by the grace of God.

Since that post, the sheer amount of preparation and paperwork has been monumental. We issued our first credits. We introduced more courses. We welcomed more students. And we never stopped praying.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV) tells us to “pray without ceasing”. I catch myself praying over each and every email I compose. Over each blog post I write. Over every student interaction. Over each report printed. It’s thoroughly engrained into my work day – to pray. Though silent and quick, the connection with God throughout my day is something I cherish and am thankful for.

I have seen so many impossible puzzle pieces fit together. So many frustrating roadblocks dissipate when I turn to prayer instead of pushing through. The power of prayer is incredible.

How much more so, when we come together in prayer? Jesus tells us in the book of Matthew that

“If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” – Matthew 18:19-20 (NIV)

We want to come together, for you, and with you. Whether you are a part of the Christian Virtual School family or not, we welcome you to submit prayer requests to our team. Let us know how we can pray for you today. To do so, visit our Prayer Requests page, and let us lift you up in prayer!
