Hear that? That’s the sound of thousands of students closing their laptops, zipping up their backpacks, and swinging their study-room doors shut for the next week. That’s the unmistakable sound of March Break approaching! Across the province, students are getting ready to step away from schoolwork and enjoy a much-needed pause. At Christian Virtual School, things look a little different. Our courses remain accessible around the clock, even during March Break, though teacher availability may vary.
And while that’s the beauty of our asynchronous model, we wholeheartedly encourage students to take this time to slow down, recharge, and rest. Rest is not only valuable, it’s biblically rooted, woven right into the design of creation itself and is paramount to our individual well-being!
March Break offers a moment to reset during the academic year. For many, it’s a chance to step outside familiar routines, maybe by visiting family, exploring a new hobby, or enjoying a bit of extra sleep. For others, March Break becomes an opportunity to pursue activities they rarely have time for during busy school months, whether that’s reading for pleasure, baking with siblings, volunteering in the community, or heading outdoors to welcome the early signs of spring (if they’re lucky enough to be in an area experiencing spring yet.)
If you’re feeling energized and want to stay productive, this week can also be an opportunity to get organized without the looming pressure of coursework. Some students like to tidy up their study space, sent new goals for the final months of the school year, or spend a few hours catching up on material at a relaxed pace. The key is balance, choosing what serves you best, not what pressures you most.
Families can make March Break meaningful too. Even small activities: an afternoon board game, a walk at a local park, a craft project, or cooking a favourite meal together can create lasting memories.
However you choose to spend March Break 2026, remember this: rest is productive in of itself. Stepping back often leaves you more refreshed, focused, and motivated when you return. So whether you decide to stay active, unwind completely, or land somewhere in between, we hope your break brings joy, refreshment, and a renewed sense of purpose.
How will you spend your March Break?
