At Christian Virtual School we aim to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of students who join us throughout the year, have varying schedules, and live all across the globe. Our asynchronous model is what allows for this flexibility. Students can enroll with us at any time, there is no set schedule or deadlines to align to, and no attendance requirements beyond logging in each week. However, this does not mean we don’t want to provide structure.

To support our students and their parents in establishing a schedule that works for their unique situations we are introducing a Balanced Day approach for our elementary students. This approach is meant to act as a pacing guide rather than a strict schedule. The balanced day approach has been put together to balance time on and off the computer, time in each subject area, and time for nutrition breaks and physical activity. We hope it allows families to feel confident that they are covering each subject appropriately.

We suggest that our elementary students take a Day 1 and Day 2 approach, alternating between non-core subjects each day. Here is a peek into what we suggest:

In addition to setting up a pace similar to this schedule we also encourage our students to reach out to our administration and guidance teams for support. They are available throughout the day to answer questions, provide support, and help each student personally.
